Tree or thorny shrub, with simple, deciduous, slightly lobed leaves (less than half the distance between the edge of the limb and the central vein), with 3 or 5 lobes with a serrated edge.

The flowers are white, with 2 or 3 styles.

The fruit is an almost globular red pome with 2 or 3 seeds.
