Cedrus atlántica "Glauca"
Atlas cedar
- Family: Pinaceae
- Origen: Atlas Mountains in Algeria and Morocco
A tree measuring up to 40 metres tall, conical in shape, with a smooth grey bark that splits longitudinally.
The leaves are acicular and arranged in plumes of 20 to 30, measuring 1 to 3 centimetres in length.
The cones measure 5-10 x 3.5 centimetres, with a truncated apex and arranged upright on the branches. After maturing, they flake off, leaving the strobile axis on the tree. The seeds are 1 to 2 centimetres long, with a wing that is hard to break off.
